PHIL CORNISH |
|
Philip was born at Gumeracha in the Adelaide Hills where his parents owned an orchard farm. In the mid 50's his family moved to Keith in the South East to participate in the AMP land development of virgin bushland. Isolated from the local town, correspondence was the only means of education in his early years.

Scroll down for news about Phil’s motorcycle accident on 17 November After graduating at fourth year high school, Philip worked on his parent’s farm until 1972, when he married Christine, and owned and operated his own 800 hectare farm. He managed 1600 sheep, 300 hectares of cereal crops and irrigated lucerne. He is now a retired farmer. Philip has also been involved with local football and cricket clubs, country fire service, agricultural bureau, and other local associations. Philip and Christine have two married children and four grand children. Philip has previously contested two State and two Federal elections. He is standing again as a Family First candidate in this election, because of his deep concern for South Australian families and values in our community. The FAMILY FIRST Party confirms that Phil Cornish was injured in a motorcycle accident near Bordertown on 17 November 2007. Thankfully Phil is now in a stable condition in Flinders Medical Centre. He was struck by another vehicle and had it not been for his helmet, doctors say he would have died. He suffered multiple fractures including head injuries and is expected to be in hospital for a few weeks. He is expected to make a full recovery and is still standing for the seat of Barker in the Federal Election on 24 November. |
